Ebola finally hits DR Congo, Kills 2

It’s a pitty how this Ebola virus has being spreading in West Africa without control. The Ebola disease which broke out in West Africa has now spread to the Central part of the continent as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) confirms that 2 people in the country have died after being infected. This was disclosed by the DRC’s Health Minister, Felix Numbi who said that tests carried out on people showed that they had contracted the disease.
The minister added that the strain of Ebola in the DRC seems different from that which has spread in West Africa.
The deaths occurred in the isolated Equateur region of the country where 13 people had earlier died of an unidentified fever.
Numbi said a quarantine zone is being created to keep the disease from spreading further.
This outbreak of the disease is the seventh for the DRC where the virus was first discovered near the Ebola River in 1976.
Over 2000 people have been infected with Ebola this year,1427 of which have died of the disease.
