Gbolahan Salami expresses his joy over his AFCON 2015 Eagles’ call up!
One of the Super Eagles new invitee, Gbolahan Salami, has said that his ‘Eagles new job’ is more like a reward for his performance at his Nigerian Premier League side; Warri Wolves. The striker who has so far scored 11 goals this season for his club, is one of the four home-based players that were picked for the next month’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo and South Africa.
“I must confess that I was very happy and i jumped up for joy when I learnt that I have been invited to join other players for the Super Eagles Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo and South Africa. It shows there is a reward for hardwork because I have done my best this season for Warri Wolves this season.
The others are goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, Kunle Odunlami recog and Christian Osagona.
I am very happy over this invitation, I have always looked forward to it and it has come. All I can say is that it’s a reward for my hard work thus far for my club in the league, I don’t want to wrestle the jersey from any of the established strikers, but I will put in my best to earn a place in the Eagles squad anytime,”
